If you want your resume to be read with interest from someone who is hiring for a job, you don’t need a course in how to get past an AI filter.
You don’t need to know what an Applicant Tracking System is. You don’t need to have a course in how to “outsmart” or “get past” the AI.
You don’t need to know anything about Artificial Intelligence at all.
First of all, not all companies have a special AI system set up to filter out candidates.
And even if they do, it’s set up to automate what the person doing the hiring already does: weed out those who aren’t qualified.
So here’s what you need to do.
You need to do what job applicants have done for a long time.
You’ll need to do what job applicants have done since before the Internet:
- Read carefully what the job description says.
- Make sure you have those qualifications.
- Make sure to include those qualifications in your resume.
This means that you will probably need to tailor your resume for the individual job description.
If you don’t meet most of the qualifications, then you shouldn’t be applying. Move onto a different role. Applying for a job that you clearly don’t qualify for wastes everyone’s time.
If you meet those qualifications, you will need to take at least a few minutes and make sure that those qualifications are listed and prominently displayed on your resume
If you don’t update your resume to include those things, you are being lazy.
The person reviewing the resume or application won’t assume you have those qualifications if they’re not listed there.
